Guest Ordering

Guests order in seconds. Servers stay in the room.

Table QR ordering, split checks by item or evenly, tab-to-pay, and never lose a check to a scan that didn't work. Servers still greet, upsell, and read the room — but they don't chase paper.

What it does

Six capabilities. One module.

Every capability listed below is included in the base module. No add-ons, no unlock fees, no per-seat surcharges. If you're on xRESTAURANTx, you have this.

1

Table QR

One QR per table, one URL per seat. Guests can share the tab or order individually and merge later.

2

Split checks

Split by item, split evenly, or split by seat. Tax and service parse automatically so no one is doing math at the end of dinner.

3

Server approval flow

Guest submissions can require server sign-off before firing to the kitchen. Or fire direct. Your choice, per section.

4

Upsell prompts

"Add a starter?" "Want to see wine pairing?" Prompts based on your margin math, disabled instantly if you feel it's overkill.

5

Tab to pay

Guests tap Pay from their phone. Card, wallet, or open house account. Signature captured on the guest device, tips split by pool rules automatically.

6

QR fallback

If the QR fails, servers text a link. If SMS fails, they punch the order manually. Never a lost check because a phone had no camera.

Tutorial

How to use it. Step by step.

Every operator we onboard runs this same tutorial in their first week. Most complete it in one sit-down; the whole team is comfortable inside two shifts.

01

Set your floor plan and section map

Drag-and-drop your floor plan or upload a photo of your existing map. Assign tables to sections, sections to servers. The routing map decides which server gets the tip when a guest QR-orders from Table 14.

💡 You can leave tables unassigned and let the host seat them dynamically. The system picks the on-shift server for the section at seat time.
02

Pick your ordering mode per section

Full self-serve, guest submits with server approval, or full server-punched. Most fine dining runs approval mode on booths and full self-serve on the bar. You can flip modes mid-service.

💡 Ghost kitchens almost always run full self-serve. Servers don't exist there. Full-service dinner? Approval mode is where most operators land.
03

Configure split-check defaults

Pick a default split behavior — by item is the most restaurant-friendly, evenly is easiest for casual. Guests can change the split at any time before payment.

04

Test with your team

Every operator does a walk-through night before go-live. Servers scan their own tables, guests-as-servers submit orders, and you catch the friction points before real guests hit them.

05

Go live

Print the QRs, drop them on the tables. That's it. First-week analytics tell you which sections have the highest self-serve adoption and where to nudge servers or guests.

Included in every deployment.

xRESTAURANTx modules are not sold separately. Bundle everything — you pay one flat rate keyed to your restaurant's size, not a per-module upsell.

The dry-aged demonstration table STEAKHOUSE

Captain rolls the wagyu cart. Guests scan, add sides, choose sauce, and the ticket lands at the grill station tagged with the wagyu selection — no shouted-across-the-line miscommunication.

  • Cart-side ordering with captain approval flow
  • Course-paced kitchen fire (fire starters, hold entrées)
  • Wine pairing baked into the meat selection tile
STEAKHOUSE

The 300-cover Friday where nobody waits for a check BUSY BAR

Every guest orders their next round from their seat. Bartenders execute drinks; they don't run tabs. Servers close checks in bulk at the end of shift and go home 45 minutes earlier.

  • Guest-side pay so bartenders never run credit cards
  • Auto-close of unclaimed tabs at last call
  • Per-drink upsell (top-shelf) that runs quietly

FAQ

Answers before you have to ask.

What if my guests don't have smartphones?

Servers punch the order manually the same as they always did. Table ordering is offered, not required. Most restaurants land at 40–65% guest self-serve after two weeks.

What about the tip?

Tip lives on the guest side. Presets, custom, or none. The tip pool math handles allocation to server, bar back, kitchen — whatever your model is.

Does split-by-seat mean I need to know seat numbers?

Only if you want to. Guests self-assign to a seat when they scan. Most casual rooms skip seats and go split-by-item.
